About me!
HI! My name is Julie Jaasma, I am 26 years old, and I live in the Netherlands
I am currently in my third year of my game development studies.

I currently have 3 years of experience with game development in unity.
in those 3 years, I have worked on 5 projects. On my most recent project, Laika the Space Dog, I developed multiple gameplay mechanics. For example: an enemy that starts following the player when you get too close, moving obstacles and a gravity flip function.
I love learning new things and skills. Recently, I learned a lot about animation rigging.

Right now, I am focusing on becoming an all-around Unity developer. However, I aspire to be a level designer.
I have always been intrigued by what motivates players to continue their journey, what moves them, what they like and what they don't like, what works and what doesn't, and why. By becoming a level designer, I would get to dive even deeper into these topics!

When I was about 6 years old, I got my first game console, and I got somewhat addicted to a little game called Jak and Daxter. Years later, I found a new love for gaming because of the games Horizon Zero Dawn and the last of us. These games have had a massive impact on me and inspired me to start becoming a game developer.
​
In my free time, I love to game. I also really like to dissect and analyze games that I enjoy or games that I do not like at all. That is how I come up with new ideas. For example, a new skill tree. Aside from gaming, I like to read and cook (and eat).
​
When I am finished with my studies, I would like to work at a small game studio. I want to work and grow to the next level together with the studio and start building bigger and more ambitious games. I want to be Innovative and bring new ideas to the game industry.
